The CFMTA Annual Honors Recital is one of our greatest events and far from a typical recital. It is an opportunity for us to honor and showcase our students and their incredible achievements. You can expect to hear some of the best young talents from around our local community performing under one roof. Honors Recital is open to the public.

Venue - North Fayette United Methodist Church (847 New Hope Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214)
Honors Recital Guidelines:
All applications must be submitted by email to the Honors Recital Chair. Please ensure that all information requested below has been provided.
Eligibility - Applicant must be a student whose teacher is either a confirmed member of CFMTA and has attended at least one meeting or a member of the Peachtree City/Newnan Federated Senior Club. Applicant must be a recipient of an Outstanding Performance-Regionals Award at Local Auditions, an Excellence in Artistry Award at Federation, or the CFMTA High School Scholarship.
There will be a limit of 20 students allowed to perform at Honors Recital. If more than 20 students apply for entry, students from the earliest grade levels will be cut until the limit has been observed. Please explain this to students and parents beforehand so that everyone is well aware.
Teacher Responsibilities - Teachers of participating students are required to work the day of the recital as needed. All CFMTA members are encouraged to attend.
Student Applicants - Student may select one performance piece from standard repertoire or other styles that best represent student and teacher. Performance does not have to be the same piece or on the same instrument as that with which the student was awarded, though it is encouraged. Student may perform 2 pieces if the combined duration does not exceed 3 minutes.
Recital Etiquette - Standard Recital Etiquette must be observed. All solo piano and vocal repertoire must be memorized. Vocal and instrumental soloists must use live accompaniment. Student attire should be dressy and modest. Short skirts/dresses are not appropriate.
All students who wish to try out the performance space should arrive 30 minutes before the start of the recital. One teacher will be assigned to oversee the warm-up time. An additional room will be available for vocal and instrumental warm-up.
